Rhonda McClendon – Founder and Partner

Rhonda D. McClendon earned bachelors degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting at West Georgia College in 1980 and has been a practicing CPA in Georgia since 1984.

She has extensive experience in many different areas of accounting including but not limited to teaching, professional consultingforensic accounting, and tax preparation.  She is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

She started her career at what was then Williams & Murphy, PC and now is the managing and controlling partner of The McClendon Group, CPA, PC.

Rhonda has served on numerous boards and committees for various local establishments such as banks, churches, and hospitals.

Rhonda is a member of the following accounting organizations:

  • Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

Jeff Edwards, CPA, CMA, CMPE – Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Edwards has considerable experience in the Finance and Accounting field. He began his career in Mississippi in the telecommunications industry. During his tenure with BellSouth Telecommunications, he held positions in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia.

Transitioning to the healthcare industry, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and then the Chief Executive Officer of a multi-location, Atlanta-based fee-for-service cardiology specialty/sub-specialty practice. After Solaris Heart & Vascular was acquired by a health system, he began and operated a sole-practitioner accounting practice serving clients through tax planning, return preparation, accounting and business consulting. Prior to joining The McClendon Group, CPA, PC, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of STARUS Medical Group, a full-risk, primary care, population health management Independent Practice Association (IPA) in Tampa, Florida.

Jeff holds the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations. He also is a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE). He holds the Master of Professional Accountancy (MPA) and Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) degrees. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

Kelly Bollinger – CPA

Kelly Bollinger began her accounting career with a local accounting firm in Peachtree City where she worked for nine years and quickly became the head of the accounting department.

In 1993, Kelly graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After graduation, Kelly became a controller for a local law firm in Peachtree City and simultaneously studied for and passed the CPA exam.

Kelly began working with Rhonda McClendon in 2005 and has been with The McClendon Group, CPA, PC since our inception. Kelly is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Nancy Bollinger – CPA

Nancy has over 30 years experience in tax, audit and small business consulting. She was a partner in the firm of Sokolow & Bollinger, CPAs, P.A. in Fort Lauderdale until 2001 when she relocated to Georgia.

Her experience includes preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, employee benefit, nonprofit, trust and estate tax returns. She has experience in auditing nonprofit, governmental, manufacturing, construction and retail entities.

In addition, she served as a part-time adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida for eight years where she taught Intermediate, Advanced and Cost accounting. Nancy was an honor graduate of Florida Atlantic University where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1972.

Before joining The McClendon Group, CPA, PC in 2010, she worked with CPA firms located in Peachtree City and Newnan, Georgia.

Jean Lawrence – Accountant

Jean began her accounting career in the private sector working with a local manufacturing company in Newnan. She was employed there for twenty years and was involved in many various areas of accounting.

In 2007, Jean received her Associates degree in Accounting from West Central Technical College, and in 2009 she received her Bachelor’s degree in General Technical Management with Emphasis in Accounting from DeVry University.

Jean is currently pursuing her Masters in Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management and is a Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor.

Jean began working with The McClendon Group, CPA, PC in 2005.

Paula Hooks – Administrative Assistant

After receiving her undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Paula Hooks worked for two Fortune 500 companies before joining the The McClendon Group, CPA, PC firm in 2005. She worked until late 2008 when she left to pursue other interests.
